Regrettably, in 2008, we found that we almost did not have the sponsorship money in time for the year end awards Chase (saddles and buckles).  To eliminate this, we are implementing a membership requirement for those wishing to participate in that "Chase".  The entry form is below.  There is a $35 membership fee with a $20 additional family member fee.  These fees are less than half of other local area membership fees. 

Those not wishing to be a part of the "Chase" will not be required to be Members.

Awards will include buckles, tack, and barn items from High Desert Barns in Mound House.

REQUIRED EVENT DATES:  As in 2008, SPSH will require 5 seperate event dates due to one event cancellation.  We found this protects our regular riders from 3 day super riders at some of our 3 day events. 

POINTS:  We are using the AQHA point system this year instead of a money system.  Only members are scored, as if only they were running.  5 points for 1st, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th and 1 for 5th.  This will be more fair for everyone concerned.  AQHA points are based on the number of riders in class, so it can change every event, as it does in AQHA.  Most of you have an AQHA rule book anyway, as that is what we run our barrel races on to, along with AW4D and WPRA rules. 

MULTIPLE POINTS IN ONE DAY ON MULTIPLE HORES: SPSH will take the highest single point in a category for that category.  It is therefore possible to earn year-end points in 1D and 2D on the same date on multiple horses.  All-round will include all events, including Novice and Poles.
